ARRL Field Day is June 26-27, 2010
ARRL Field Day is the largest on-the-air operating event in Amateur Radio. It draws tens of thousands to the airwaves each year, bringing new and experienced hams together for a weekend of fun!
Please go to the ARRL Website and check out everything they have to offer for field day.
Amateur Radio Field Day - “Hams” Go Radio-Active June 26-27
The Lone Star Amateur Radio Association (“LSARA”) of Williamson County will host a Field Day operation at the Liberty Hill Fire Department firehouse, 301 Loop 332, from 1 pm, Saturday, June 26 to 1 pm Sunday, June 27.
In the past months, the news has had many reports of ham radio operators providing critical emergency communications world-wide. The recent earthquake in Haiti is an example. Closer to home, ham radio was the only means of communicating in East Texas after Hurricane Rita hit the area. On June 26 and 27 the public will have a chance to meet and talk with hams and see for themselves what amateur radio is all about. More than 35,000 radio operators around the country will be “on the air” for Field Day.
The Lone Star Amateur Radio Association invites you to come to the Liberty Hill Fire House and experience amateur radio in action. You will get an opportunity to make radio contacts under emergency operating conditions. Come join us and have some fun!
Visitors are most welcome. The event will be publicized in local news outlets and schools. Even if you don’t want to operate a station, please come out to view the club in simulated emergency conditions and show your support.
Fox Hunters:

You will need a DF antenna (optional), an HT or mobile tuned to 146.565 simplex, a pen or pencil, a ruler, and a compass (optional). I will bring maps of Sun City.
